Hillsborough Auxiliary to Peninsula Family Service

Peninsula Family Service

Mission Statement:

We are a vital group of women dedicated to supporting Peninsula Family Service through fundraising and volunteer efforts and strengthening personal relationships through diverse enrichment activities.

Hillsborough Auxiliary to Peninsula Family Service was founded in 1964.  Today The Auxiliary has more than 60 Active and 80 Sustaining members.  The Auxiliary supports Peninsula Family Service through two major fundraising events, a holiday luncheon and spring Gala.  The Auxiliary also supports various volunteer projects, including serving Thanksgiving lunch at Fair Oaks Senior Center, and providing gift bags with diapers, books, and other necessities for new mothers at the Redwood Center.

Hillsborough Auxiliary raised over  $520,269 in the 2022/2023 fiscal year.

The monies we raise for Peninsula Family Service are unrestricted and go towards covering any deficit in any area.

We support PFS through these events:

  • Holiday Luncheon and Boutique

  • Annual Gala which includes an upper level CocktailParty

  • Fund a Need (only funds that are restriced which support an area agreed upon by the auxiliary and PFS.)

  • Volunteer opportunities to help at various locations

  • Donation projects

We work to support PFS with a helping hand, not a hand out, to any family in need.

Mission Statement:

Peninsula Family Service strengthens the community by providing children, families, and older adults the support and tools to realize their full potential and lead healthy, stable lives.

We envision a community where opportunity, financial stability, and wellness are secured for all.

More than six decades ago, Peninsula Family Service—then known as the Family Service Agency of San Mateo County—was created to strengthen and maintain local families. Over the years, the original staff of two has grown to 150 employees who support participants in four Bay Area counties: San Benito, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Mateo. Together, with the help of board members, advisors, donors, volunteers, and partners, Peninsula Family Service supports 10,000 individuals who need our help overcoming the barriers standing between themselves and a life of opportunity, financial stability, and wellness.
